BENEFITS
OF SPEEDHOCKEY
What is SpeedHockey? SpeedHockey
is a fast-paced game of inline hockey that allows for the puck to be moving at
all times. There are no face-offs
and very few stoppages in SpeedHockey. As
a result, there are many benefits that a person, whether a beginner or expert
inline or ice hockey player, can get that will enhance their overall hockey
game: 1.
Conditioning:
The puck is
always moving in SpeedHockey and there are very few stoppages.
Because of this, SpeedHockey players build stamina and stay in great
shape throughout the season. 2.
Skating:
Again, SpeedHockey is a fast-paced game. Players are constantly skating.
SpeedHockey players will see an improvement in their skating throughout
the season. 3.
Stick
handling:
SpeedHockey is played on a smaller surface.
Therefore, players do not have as much room with the puck and will have
to rely on their stick handling more than before. 4.
Puck
Movement: As
stated above, the playing surface in SpeedHockey is smaller.
Therefore, players have to move the puck quicker.
This aspect helps players when they play regular inline hockey or ice
hockey because they learn to move the puck much faster. 5.
Passing:
Along the same lines, players will learn to pass the puck better because
there isn’t as much time or room in SpeedHockey. Also, because of the recessed nets, players can pass the puck
off of the wall to one another at different angles. 6.
Overall
Teamwork:
SpeedHockey is a team game. Because
it is so fast and the surface is smaller, no one player can take over a game at
any time. As a result, players need
to use their teammates in order to be most effective. |
